NACE Career-Readiness Competencies

Teamwork: This article highlighting an intern at Jefferson Lab was completed by me and 3 of my other communication interns. We all had to work together to interview her, write, edit and revise the article and create imagery for the website and social media to go along with it. This has shown me the importance of teamwork in the workplace. I plan to use this experience in the future to create content with a team of people in the social media field.

Technology: The use of artificial intelligence at Jefferson Lab is becoming used more frequently. As an innovative way of incorporating this technology into our communication department, I created this April Fools Day post using AI to generate a fake particle accelerator in a backyard. With technology being such an important aspect, I will continue to seek ways to integrate AI and other innovations into my workflow.

Critical Thinking/Leadership: For this post highlighting a worker at Jefferson Lab, the communications office wanted to highlight Jodi Patient who has worked at the lab for many years; however they did not want to create an entire article since the due date had a quick turnaround. In response, I decided to conduct a short interview with Jodi and created this social media post that briefly touched on everything we wanted to highlight about her. With critical thinking and leadership being so important, I will use this skill create innovative content for future companies.
